The Wood Estates Resident's Association  (WERA) exists to promote the growth of civic, social, and cultural activities for residents of Wood Estates.  This includes maintenance of the Point, a beautiful 64,000 square foot wooded recreational area on Johnson's Pond.

WERA is headed by volunteer officers and consists of numerous committees for various activities and tasks, including children's events, adult social events, landscaping, welcoming new neighbors, maintaining the Point, and much more.  Meetings are held bi-monthly and are relaxed and social.

The Wood Estates Residents Association continually looks for new ways to provide fun and exciting events for the children in our neighborhood.  We also can’t forget the adults, and plan events that allow you to get to know your neighbors in casual settings that all will enjoy.

A nominal fee of $40 is all that is required.  All members will receive the WERA Newsletter announcing upcoming events as well as a Key to the Point. This Key will allow you and your family to enjoy the splendor Johnson’s Pond has to offer from our very own private waterfront park, we refer to as the Point.

What are the benefits of WERA membership?

The most popular benefit for generations of members and their families is access to The Point.  The Point is a protected 64,000 square foot wooded recreational area on Johnson's Pond.  Amenities include a sandy beach with a roped off swim area, boat ramp, dock, swing, park benches, and picnic area.  The Point is also the site of many special events held throughout the year, including the Spring Egg Hunt, Family Evening, Clambake, and Halloween Party.  WERA membership offers great opportunities to meet your neighbors and enjoy quality time with your family.

As we look forward to a new season enjoying our neighborhood and Johnson’s Pond, we would like to remind everyone of a few simple rules that will help keep our neighborhood clean, safe and enjoyable.

Point Rules:The new locks at the point and for the boat ramp will be installed in May, after the April Membership Drive. In order to keep the Point safe from damage and keep it private for WERA members and their friends and families, please:

Do:

·        Lock up the ramp or Point access gate after each use or entry/exit. Anyone on the Point should have a key, and it will help prevent unauthorized access.

·        Pick up your trash or any other trash you see laying around, and put into the trash bins.

·        Participate in the spring cleanup at the Point and Front Entrances.

·        Clean up after your dog!!!  Even thought it is wooded in areas, many kids like to run and explore at the Point. Please do not leave your dog waste on the ground. Pick it up and dispose of it properly.

Do Not:

·        Stay at the Point after dark

·        Park trailers along Peninsula Court. Drop your boat, and return trailer to your house.

·        Block the boat ramp or access to Point with a parked vehicle.

·        Throw rocks from the retaining walls at The Point. Without these walls, our shared waterfront will not last.

Are you a Courteous Neighbor?

Do you:

·        Drive slowly, obey the speed limit, and stop at all intersections? There are many small children who will be out walking or riding scooters or bikes.

·        Pick up after your dog always!!! Dog waste left in the streets will eventually end up in the pond. And who wants that floating up when they are out enjoying the water?

·        Keep your hedges trimmed back so your sidewalk is accessible? We are privileged to have sidewalks to enjoy nice walks in the neighborhood. Please be considerate of those who want to walk near your home.

·        Keep up with maintenance of your property, and make sure it’s free from debris and trash? A neat neighbor is always appreciated, creates a more open and friendly environment, and helps keep up property values.
